Frenectomy

Lip and tongue frenula

A shortened lip or tongue frenulum can affect breastfeeding in infants, speech development in children, and comfort and function in adults. Frenectomy restores proper mobility and function.

Tongue-tie (ankyloglossia)

A shortened tongue frenulum restricts its mobility, affecting breastfeeding, speech development, nasal breathing, and resting tongue position. Frenuloplasty restores full range of motion.

Lip frenulum

A bulky or low-attached upper lip frenulum can cause a diastema (gap between central incisors) or gum recession. Frenectomy eliminates tissue tension and facilitates orthodontic gap closure.

Procedure technique

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia using microsurgical techniques. Healing is rapid and the effect is immediate. For children, I collaborate with speech therapists and orthodontists.
